New Members Reception and Summer Barbecue

Over fifty new members and children came along to the the New Members Reception, where they met Club Officers and toured the club to become familiar with many of the facilities now available to them.
The children were very enthusiastic to try the games in the Cadet Room, while the grown-ups were happy to find out about the website, cadet activities and club racing and cruising. Everyone seemed enthusiastic to try the home-made cakes with a cup of tea during the reception
Later, the Social team achieved a coup de force in barbecuing bangers, burgers and shish kebab for over one hundred members in the evening, despite strong winds fanning the BBQs to blast furnace temperatures - and nothing burned!
BBQs, salads and pudding were served inside to avoid the wind, where new and old members mingled, chatted and exchanged tall stories into the evening.
The event was a great success thanks to the efforts of Margaret and Drac Norman and their highly proficient team, the Club Officers and the members themselves - Well done Everyone!
