A big thank you to the forty or so people who turned out for the extra work party on this wonderfully sunny day. Mick Sargeant led a team to level the top dinghy park and spread the stones evenly , new tie down lines were installed and Charlie Stewart oversaw the repositioning of the dinghies. Elsewhere, Barry organised the posts for the long awaited dog bins to be installed, work on the new footpath continued, brambles were destroyed, the launch was repaired, painters painted, gardeners gardened and cleaners cleaned - all in all a very productive day! As always we were wonderfully well fed and watered by Eileen Watling and her galley team who treated us to Peter Wilson's pea and ham soup and Kathryn Nichols' Danish apple cake and custard - delicious. Well done everyone!

Club Cruiser Supper

Our Cruiser section held their annual supper on Saturday evening, attended by around fifty club members and guests. The evening was organised by Anne and Trevor 'First Light' and Linda and Bob 'Lady J' and featured a glittering cast of thousands – mainly ourselves!
First up was a viewing of pictures taken by members while cruising last summer which covered our local cruising grounds from the Medway to Deben, with some of the sightings at sea as well. Next, the confessional – where disasters and drop-offs of the year were expiated through public confession – in a very light-hearted manner of course!
Our 'Official Paparazzi', Guy was then kind enough to comment on our photographic efforts, showing examples of how iffy pictures could have been improved, and outlining the essentials for taking interesting pictures while cruising.
All this intellectual effort was then rounded off with some much needed food for 'ze little grey cells'.
Don 'Malibu' then finished our entertainment with some pictures showing their Tomahawk cruise 'Three Bridges' where they fetched up at St Kathryn's Dock
Keep snapping pics ready for next year's supper – which just needs a volunteer to organise!.
